Röyksopp & Robyn – Do It Again

Röyksopp & Robyn – Do It Again

The Swedish pop queen and the supercharged Norwegian synthpop duo have once again teamed up for another creative collaboration sure to impress audiences. With their latest EP, Do It Again, both Robyn and Royksopp sound more like an alliance (sorry, my nerdity is coming out) than guest artists vocally balancing each other out. From electrifying rhythm to addictive hooks, the chemistry that comes across from the trio is evident in their music. Collaborations between artists that not only merge together but, also bring unique influences to creating music is what a collaboration should be about. We’ve seen it time and again with artists such as Justin Timberlake and Timbaland to name a few and this trio is no exception. Five years have gone by since Robyn and Royksopp went into the studios together for their first team-up and I couldn’t be happier to see their mini album do so well.

With that being said, their title song, “Do It Again” is one of the best songs off of the EP. The message I get from the song is whatever makes sense to us as humans, we’ll continue to do it. We do what we have to, even if it’s wrong; even if people say we’re not supposed to. It’s what makes us alive. When it comes to songs that make you jump up at a party, this is going to be that single. Robyn, to me, has also matured from her “Show Me Love” days of the 90’s to her strong, assertive voice of today. Whatever you want to call this song, you can’t deny that this trio are undeniably talented.

Have some more Robyn and Royksopp as I stop gushing over them lol
